The Girl Behind The Lens - Lindsay J Everyday

So I'm pretty excited to accomplish 2 out of my 10 goals for this year.
One was to have a creative post each week. So, I'm going to be interviewing some of my favorite bloggers; The ones that I get excited for when I see they have a new post.
The second goal is almost one in the same, to be able to start relationships with these great people. What better way than to interview them and get to know them?

Today I got to know Lindsay better. Her style is so fresh and clean, she's very polished. I think our styles are very similar and that's one reason I love visiting her blog. I also love how she's not afraid of color. You all know how much I love color! Well, head on over to her site and check out her wonderful sense of style!

Here are the questions I asked to get to know this lovely girl better:

How would you describe your personal style?
Classic, preppy, and a bit feminine.

Who are your fashion icons?
Jenna Lyons, Lauren Conrad, Rachel Bilson, and Olivia Palermo of course.

What styling tips could you offer someone to be more confident?
Whatever you are wearing make sure you LOVE it. If you don’t love it and don’t feel comfortable & confident it will show. There’s also no better accessory than a beautiful smile.

What are your favorite places to shop?
I feel like this changes as some stores can be hit & miss but some of my favorites are: H&M, Old Navy, Forever 21, Gap and Express.

What is the one FASHION thing you can't leave the house with out?
This is a tough one. My #1 always is my engagement ring & wedding band. During winter months I can’t leave the house without a scarf.

What trend are you excited for this Spring?
Lots of black & white and STRIPES of course! I’m also pretty excited to see that it looks like colored denim is sticking around for a while. Now I have an excuse to expand my colored pants collection even more.

Who takes your pictures?
My husband takes all of my photos. Thankfully I recently got a new big girl camera for my birthday so no more iPhone photos. I also have a tripod, but find it’s difficult to get the right angle and don’t have a wireless remote so it’s just easier to have my hubby snaps my photos for me.

Here are her blogging tips:

What made you want to start a blog?

About a year and a half ago I discovered my first style blog and become instantly hooked! I loved getting inspiration from bloggers and loved the sense of community so I decided to try it myself. It can be very time consuming, but I truly enjoy blogging and especially the friendships that have formed!

What advice could you give to someone just starting their fashion blog?
Make friends! Comment, comment, comment- but make sure your comments on other blogs are heartfelt. Not just “Love this top!”, “You look great.”. I don’t respond to comments like these because I feel they are not heartfelt and it’s typically just someone wanting to leave their blog link for exposure. Also, I think it’s important to blog regularly. I try to update mine at least 3 times a week, more if I can. Most importantly, blog about what you love. If you start posting just to get something out there or because it’s what everyone else is doing you will burn out fast.

And the most important question of all: What do you like to do for fun? Any hobbies? Family life?
I love my weekly shopping trips. Now, I do NOT have an endless shopping budget but I have fun going on my Friday shopping trips and scouting out items I might like to add to my closet. I enjoy reading (especially in the winter), wine, spending time with girlfriends, and making jewelry when I am feeling inspired. Something I haven’t talked about on my blog yet is that I actually volunteer 2-3 times a week for an amazing organization called Guide Dogs For The Blind. I love getting my “dog fix” and being able to make a difference in other peoples lives.
